About this Product
Grass Curing maps the estimated percentage of cured grass within O-1 grass fuel areas. The current application provides dated products for the Calgary Forest Area so users can compare seasonal patterns, inspect individual locations, and download the mapped results.
The service uses 30-metre Harmonized Landsat and Sentinel-2 imagery and a regression model fitted to field measurements of grass curing to estimate curing for each grassland pixel. Those estimates are summarized on the provincial 100-metre fuel grid in NAD83 / 10TM Forest (EPSG:3400).
Analysis is restricted to the O-1 grass fuel type, and within each cell only pixels classed as grassland contribute. A cell's percentage is the average curing of that grass. Supporting imagery-age, acquisition-date, grass-fraction, and product information helps users interpret the selected release.
